Bubby & Sissy’s has always been more than just a bar—it’s been a safe space, a chosen family, and a fierce cornerstone of the LGBTQIA+ community in Alton. In 2025, a group of longtime friends and patrons—Barry, Mike, Mikey, Joe, and Sarah—came together to take the reins and carry that legacy forward.
As the new owners, we’re committed to honoring everything Bubby & Sissy’s has meant to generations past while creating new memories for the future. You’ll notice some updates: renovated spaces, refreshed vibes, and more events. But the soul of the place remains untouched. This is still your bar. Your drag shows, your dance floor, your late-night talks and first-time kisses. We’re just here to make sure it thrives.
